The Astronomical journal
A scientific periodical of astronomy begun in 1849 and issued in New York for professional astronomers, published in association with the Dudley Observatory and later the American Astronomical Society and American Institute of Physics. Plates are engraved line charts: stacked time-series curves labelled by observatory city, jagged annual-term plots on ruled grids, and nested elliptical orbit diagrams with numbered tick points.
