A school astronomy textbook adapted by Roswell W. Haskins from François Arago's lectures at the Paris Observatory, published in New York in 1841 for American classroom use. The 38 figures are spare line diagrams — celestial spheres crossed by lettered arcs, orbital rings with shaded planets, eclipse and solstice schematics — printed on toned paper, useful as geometric line motifs and lettered-point notation.
