Astronomy: or The perfections of God displayed in his works
Cyrus Mann's popular astronomy primer, published in Boston in 1836 by the Massachusetts Sabbath School Society for children and lay readers taught natural science as evidence of divine design. Small wood engravings render the full moon's craters, ringed Saturn against a starfield, and labeled eclipse and shadow-cone diagrams, all built from dense parallel hatching that designers can lift as texture or celestial motif.
