Astronomy; the sun and his family
A popular astronomy primer for young readers by Julia McNair Wright, published by the Penn Publishing Company in Philadelphia in 1898. Plates include a solar eclipse rendered as a solid black disc within a burst of fine radiating rays, alongside the Library of Congress watermark stamps visible on the scanned endpapers; the eclipse cut works as a high-contrast sunburst device for posters, logos, and record sleeves.
