Astronomy with the naked eye; a new geography of the heavens, with descriptions and charts of constellations, stars, and planets
Garrett P. Serviss wrote Astronomy with the Naked Eye (Harper, New York, 1908) as a popular star guide for amateur observers learning to find constellations without a telescope. The plates are two-color star charts: black dots graded by magnitude over blue coordinate grids, with constellation figures and names drawn in faint orange outline, useful for grid overlays, star-density textures, and celestial lettering.
