The scanned pages here carry provenance marks rather than scientific plates: a New York Academy of Sciences bookplate with a globe-and-motto seal in heavy blackletter, a worn oval ink stamp, and a soft halftone portrait of a bearded man, all useful as period library ephemera and lettering models.
