Catalogue of the Deutsche Jahrhundertausstellung, the 1906 survey of German art from 1775 to 1875 held at the Königliche Nationalgalerie in Berlin, edited by the exhibition committee with an introduction by Hugo von Tschudi and printed by F. Bruckmann in Munich for visitors, collectors and scholars. Its 414 halftone plates reproduce paintings and drawings: wide valley views with distant villages, dense woodland interiors, moonlit river banks, and dim interiors with seated figures, offering soft tonal masses and grainy grey textures for backgrounds and collage.
