The golden bough : a study in magic and religion
James George Frazer's comparative study of magic, myth and religion, issued by Macmillan in London in 1914 for scholarly and educated general readers, in a copy held by the Royal College of Physicians. The single image here is the publisher's binding: a gilt-stamped rectangular panel of mistletoe sprigs, paired leaves and berry clusters on dark green cloth, useful as a repeating botanical border, endpaper fill or stamped-cover motif.
