A two-volume German survey of comparative folk medicine by Oskar von Hovorka, Adolf Kronfeld and Max Neuburger, published in Stuttgart by Strecker & Schröder in 1908 for physicians and folklorists. Line engravings show medicinal plants with dissected flowers and scale fractions, plus antique coins, amulets and ritual objects, drawn in open outline suited to reuse as botanical or talismanic motifs.
