Das Buch Paragranum
A 1903 Leipzig edition of Paracelsus's sixteenth-century medical treatise Das Buch Paragranum, edited by Franz Strunz and issued by Eugen Diederichs for German readers of medicine, magic and mysticism. Decoration is limited to Jugendstil headbands and tailpieces printed in flat orange on cream: repeating comma-and-teardrop waves, dotted foliate scrolls and symmetrical whiplash bands that can be cropped into rules, borders or repeating patterns.
