Animal locomotion : or, walking, swimming, and flying, with a dissertation on aëronautics
A scientific treatise on animal movement by the Scottish anatomist James Bell Pettigrew, published in London by Henry S. King in 1873 for naturalists and early students of aeronautics. The figures are small wood-engraved diagrams of birds and bats seen head-on with wings extended, hatched in fine line and marked with italic reference letters and arrows tracing wing paths, useful for cut-out silhouettes and annotated technical motifs.
