The Life of Paracelsus Theophrastus von Hohenheim, 1493-1541
A 1911 English biography of the Swiss physician and alchemist Paracelsus, published by John Murray in London from the Royal College of Physicians' collections for medical and antiquarian readers. The plates reproduce sixteenth-century portrait engravings with Latin inscription panels, a lithographic view of a gabled Swiss town gate with market figures and a horse cart, and softer halftone copies of painted likenesses, useful for period faces, lettered cartouches and street architecture.
