Dissertatio academica de magia hyperboreorum veterum ...
A Latin academic dissertation on the magic of the ancient Scandinavians, defended by Olavus Hamnell and printed at Uppsala by the Werner press in 1709 for university examiners and learned readers. The plates are typographic: italic and roman chapter headings, a Swedish blackletter dedication to a named patron, and a woodcut headpiece of crowned acanthus scrollwork around a central palmette, useful for ornament stamps and period lettering models.
