De magia liber
A Latin treatise on magic by the Dutch physician Anton de Haen, printed in Venice by the Remondini press in 1775 for learned and clerical readers. The pictures are letterpress typographic ornament: a repeating cast-fleuron border of fans and scrolls above a section heading, and a woodcut vignette of a footed basket with foliage, tassels and a plant on a plinth, usable as rules, dividers and chapter-head stamps.
