A German philological monograph by Theodor Schermann on Greek magical papyri and the prayer of the First Epistle of Clement, published by J. C. Hinrichs in Leipzig in 1909 for scholars of early Christian liturgy, digitised from the Wellcome Library. The single plate is unrelated to the text: two framed herbal woodcuts from a Dutch-language botanical book, each showing a whole plant with flowers, foliage and spreading root mass in open outline, captioned in script above and printed on a page with text showing through from the reverse.
