The baronial and ecclesiastical antiquities of Scotland
An architectural survey of Scottish castles, abbeys and parish churches drawn by Robert William Billings, reissued in 1909 by T.N. Foulis of Edinburgh with text by A.W. Wiston-Glyn for antiquarians and architects. The plates are fine-line engravings of exteriors and interiors, with recessed Romanesque doorways, tracery windows, ruined nave arcades and stair turrets set against plain skies and small figures for scale — useful for masonry texture, arch profiles and silhouettes of towers.
