An architectural survey of Scottish castles, abbeys and churches drawn by Robert William Billings and published in Edinburgh in 1852 for antiquarians, architects and builders. Steel engravings give measured exterior views of ruined naves, gatehouse towers and tower houses in fine grey line, with crumbling masonry, tracery windows, corbelled turrets and small figures for scale.
