The baronial and ecclesiastical antiquities of Scotland
Robert William Billings's four-volume architectural survey of Scottish castles, abbeys and parish churches, engraved on steel and published in Edinburgh by W. Paterson in 1852 for antiquarians, architects and builders. Fine-line plates show ruined nave arcades, tracery windows, corbelled towers and rubble walls under heavy foliage, with tiny figures for scale — useful for stonework texture, Gothic window shapes and ruin silhouettes.
