The baronial and ecclesiastical antiquities of Scotland
Robert William Billings's four-volume survey of Scottish castles, abbeys and parish churches, drawn on site and engraved in Edinburgh for W. Paterson between 1845 and 1852, aimed at antiquaries, architects and builders. The steel engravings give exterior elevations, nave interiors and ruined arcades in fine grey line, with Norman doorways, tracery windows, weathered masonry and tiny figures for scale.
