The baronial and ecclesiastical antiquities of Scotland
A survey of Scottish castles, abbeys and churches drawn and engraved by Robert William Billings with text by John Hill Burton, reissued in Edinburgh by Oliver and Boyd in 1901 for antiquarians, architects and builders. The plates are fine tonal line engravings of medieval masonry: arcades of round-headed and pointed arches, clustered columns and carved capitals, corbel heads, rose windows, vaulted ribs and weathered ashlar walls, useful for architectural ornament, arch motifs and stone texture.
