The baronial and ecclesiastical antiquities of Scotland
A four-volume survey of Scottish castles, abbeys and churches drawn and described by architect Robert William Billings, published in Edinburgh by W. Paterson in 1852 for antiquaries, architects and builders. Steel engravings give exterior elevations under open skies and close interior views of ruined vaults, traceried windows, carved tombs and ivy on masonry, useful for Gothic ornament and stonework texture.
