A household decorating manual by Henry T. Williams and Mrs. C. S. Jones, published in New York in 1878 for American women furnishing and ornamenting their own rooms. Wood engravings show needlework patterns, embroidered squares, tasseled cushions, lambrequins and bracket designs, with dense hatched grounds and flower borders that supply ready-made frames, corner motifs and repeating fill textures.
