Beni Hasan
Volumes one and two of the Egypt Exploration Fund's survey of the Middle Kingdom rock-cut tombs at Beni Hasan, recorded by Percy Newberry, Francis Llewellyn Griffith and George Willoughby Fraser and issued to subscribers and scholars in London in 1893. The plates are traced copies of tomb wall paintings printed as flat-color lithographs: isolated objects, tools, mirrors, vessels, standards, weapons and disembodied hands drawn in thin outline with dusty red, ochre, teal and black fills on cream, useful as ready-cut motifs, pattern borders and a muted Egyptian palette.
