Beschouwing der Wereld
A Dutch emblem book of didactic verse on nature and religion, written and etched by Jan Luyken and published in Amsterdam in 1738 for Protestant lay readers. The 101 small square etchings set one or two figures in fields, woods and doorways, with dense hatched skies, black foliage masses and tiny background workers usable as vignettes or spot art.
