A German festival book of 1738, printed in Dresden by Hekel and Walther, recording the night illuminations, fireworks and banquet decorations staged for the proxy marriage of Saxon princess Maria Amalia to the King of Sicily, with plates by Moritz Bodenehr and Christian Philipp Lindemann for the court and its guests. The engravings set lamp-lit palace facades and triumphal fountains against dense black cross-hatched skies, alongside woodcut foliate borders with birds and flower baskets, useful for night-scene contrast, lantern-dotted architecture and ornamental strips.
