A German antiquarian guidebook by Christoph Gottlieb von Murr, printed in Nuremberg in 1778, cataloguing the notable collections and curiosities of the free imperial city and the university at Altdorf for scholars and travellers. The plates are numbered copperplate tracings of Kufic and Arabic inscriptions copied from objects, drawn as bare outlines in horizontal bands between rules, with small Latin captions; useful as ready-made lettering silhouettes, ornamental border strips and abstract linear motifs.
