The Bewick collector : a supplement to a descriptive catalogue of the works of Thomas and John Bewick : consisting of additions to the various divisions of cuts, wood blocks, etc. ...
A supplement to Thomas Hugo's descriptive catalogue of wood engravings by Thomas and John Bewick, published by L. Reeve in London in 1868 for collectors and antiquarians cataloguing the brothers' blocks and cuts. The plates reproduce small end-vignettes and tailpieces in dense white-line engraving: riders and hounds crossing hedged fields, single trees over grass worked in flickering strokes, heraldic shields slung on branches, and circular scenes of village figures in eighteenth-century dress, all usable as spot ornaments, rules and chapter marks.
