A study of the manuscript codices in the library of Monte Cassino, written by the Benedictine historian Luigi Tosti and printed in Naples by the Stamperia della Regia Università in 1874 for scholars of monastic and paleographic subjects. The two indexed images are not text illustrations but book artifacts: a circular red ownership stamp reading BIBLIOTHECA S. BENEDICTI IN URBE around a blackletter PAX with a cross below, and a blank yellowed leaf with foxing and damp marks usable as a paper texture.
