An auction catalogue of the 4,000-volume library of John Bridges of Lincoln's Inn, compiled by the auctioneer Christopher Cock and printed in London by Tonson and Watts in 1726 for collectors and booksellers bidding on the sale. Between the ruled columns of Latin short-title entries sit engraved headpieces and tailpieces: symmetrical acanthus scrollwork around trophies of trumpets and shields, narrow foliate strips, and a landscape plate of figures working a fallen tree, useful as rule-and-ornament furniture for dense list typography.
