Bibliotheca Spenceriana; or, A descriptive catalogue of the ... library of George John, earl Spencer
Thomas Frognall Dibdin's descriptive catalogue of Earl Spencer's library at Althorp, printed in London in 1814 for collectors and bibliographers of early printing. Facsimile woodcuts copied from fifteenth-century incunabula supply tasselled cardinal's arms, bedside and deathbed scenes, hanged figures on gallows trees, and crowded court groups in coarse outline, useful as stark black-line stamps and border devices.
