Bibliotheca Spenceriana; or, A descriptive catalogue of the ... library of George John, earl Spencer
Thomas Frognall Dibdin's descriptive catalogue of Earl Spencer's library at Althorp, printed in London in 1814 for collectors and bibliographers of early printing. Its plates reproduce woodcuts from fifteenth-century incunabula: foliate initials, a crowned king enthroned with a petitioner, standing figures in hose and short tunics, all in heavy black line on bare ground, usable as drop caps, spot figures and border ornament.
