A three-volume historical novel of the Peasants' Revolt by William Harrison Ainsworth, issued by Tinsley Bros. in London in 1874 for the circulating-library readership. The plates here are not scenes but printer's ornaments: small line-engraved tailpieces of acanthus leaves, foliate sprays and symmetrical scrollwork, useful as chapter dividers, borders or end-of-text marks.
