Dizionario corografico dell' Italia ... Opera illustrata, etc
A multi-volume Italian geographical dictionary compiled by Amato Amati and published in Milan from 1868, listing towns and provinces for students, officials and general readers. The plates are numbered hand-coloured woodcut shields of municipal arms — towers, gates, castles, trees, lions and crowns on flat blue or striped grounds — usable as heraldic spot art, badge shapes and colour-block motifs.
