North Country Poets. Poems and biographies of natives or residents of Northumberland, Cumberland, Westmoreland, Durham, Lancashire and Yorkshire. Edited by W. Andrews
A regional anthology of verse and short biographies of poets from six northern English counties, edited by William Andrews and published in London by Simpkin, Marshall in 1888 for local readers and literary subscribers. The plates are small wood-engraved ornaments: headpiece vignettes of swans and flowers, urns flanked by scrollwork griffins, a medallion satyr on a cartouche, and boxed decorated initials usable as spot devices, rules and drop caps.
