A transcription of the membership registers of the Antwerp Guild of Saint Luke, edited by Philip Rombouts and Theodoor van Lerius and published in 1864 for archivists and art historians tracing painters, sculptors and glaziers by year. The plates are outlined drop initials heading each year's entry, in which letter strokes become nude figures, putti, long-tailed birds, scrolling foliage and hanging tassels, usable as display capitals, page ornaments or figure-and-letter motifs.
