Real Sailor-Songs. Collected and edited by J. Ashton. Two hundred illustrations. [Reproductions of broadsheets
A collection of sailors' broadside ballads gathered and edited by the antiquary John Ashton, printed by the Leadenhall Press in London in 1891 for Victorian readers of popular song and street literature. The two hundred cuts reproduce crude woodblocks from the original sheets: square-rigged ships on ruled wave lines, sailors in jackets and hats, harbour towns, hearts and flags.
