Mansfield Park, etc
An 1898 London edition of Jane Austen's Mansfield Park illustrated by Hugh Thomson for Macmillan's series of Austen novels aimed at general readers and gift buyers. The forty pen-and-ink plates set two or three figures in bare interiors — doorways, mantelpieces, single chairs — with captions in italic beneath, offering Regency costume detail, bonnets and coats, and fine hatched line work with large areas of empty paper.
