History of the North-West
A three-volume regional history of the Canadian North-West written by Alexander Begg and published in Toronto by Hunter & Rose in 1894 for readers following Confederation-era politics and the fur trade. The plates are halftone and lithographic portraits of politicians, governors and company factors, mostly head-and-shoulders or seated, some in oval vignettes with engraved captions and facsimile signatures.
