La Belgique militaire, par quelques Officiers de l'Armée. [With plates, including portraits and maps
A French-language military history of Belgium compiled by serving army officers and published in 1835, aimed at officers and patriotic readers of the new Belgian kingdom. The plates are soft-pencil lithographic bust portraits of sixteenth- and seventeenth-century commanders in starched ruffs, chased armour and collars of chivalric orders, with battle maps alongside; useful for period costume detail, three-quarter head studies and shaded tonal drawing.
