Henry Whitney Bellows, a Unitarian minister from New York, published this two-volume account of his 1867-68 European travels with Harper & Bros. in 1868 for American readers. The plates here are line-engraved printer's ornaments: a repeated triangular tailpiece of daisies and acanthus scrolls, and a square scrollwork frame enclosing a circular field, usable as vignettes, dividers, and medallion borders.
