Poems on several occasions
A self-published collection of occasional verse by John Bennet, a journeyman shoemaker, printed for the author in England in 1774 and sold largely by subscription to local patrons. The plates are letterpress ornament: headpieces and panels assembled from repeated printer's flowers, and a square frame of florets enclosing a single initial, useful as modular borders, rules and drop-cap surrounds.
