A three-volume-era novel by Anne Florence Louisa Mary Patton Bethune, issued in London by Remington & Co. in 1894 for a general circulating-library readership. The plates here are small pen-drawn ornaments — a dragon's head in a stippled roundel, a poppy spray, a horned goat's head among grapevines — usable as chapter-heads, colophons, or badge-shaped device frames.
