A regional armorial with genealogical notes on Thizy and the Beaujolais-Forez-Dombes country, assembled by H. Billet from papers left by the naturalist and antiquarian Étienne Mulsant and published in 1899 for local families and provincial historians. The 380 engravings are small outline shields, each charge drawn in plain black line with hatched and dotted fills standing in for tinctures: crenellated towers, roses, crosses pattée, ermine-strewn pales, plain escutcheons and wavy fesses, all sized for reuse as spot motifs, badges or blank shield frames.
