Antionette. A tale of the ancien régime
A historical novel of pre-Revolutionary France by Mary Popham Blyth, published in Britain in 1888 for a general reading public. The plates held here are not scenes but printers' ornaments: wedge-shaped floral tailpieces in fine line and solid black, built from S-curved stems, five-petalled roses, ringed berries and serrated leaves, usable as spot decoration, section breaks or repeat-pattern source material.
