Antionette. A tale of the ancien régime
Antionette, a historical novel of the ancien régime by Mary Popham Blyth, published in London in 1888 for the general Victorian fiction readership. The plates here are small black-line wood-engraved tailpieces: a five-petalled rose and poppy on a coiling scrolled stem, and a spray of narrow-leaved flowers arranged in a wedge, usable as chapter closers, spot ornaments or repeating floral motifs.
