A Charge to Keep
A short Victorian moral tale by P. A. Blyth, issued in 1891 by Jarrold & Sons, a Norwich and London house supplying devotional and improving fiction to British general readers. The plates are repeated engraved head- and tailpieces in fine line: symmetrical horizontal ornaments built from acanthus scrolls, laurel wreaths, pendant drops and spearlike wings around a central medallion or sealed envelope, usable as rules, dividers and small centred marks.
