A Charge to Keep
A short English novel by P. A. Blyth, published in 1896 and held by the British Library, issued for general Victorian readers. Its fifteen plates are not scenes but printer's ornaments: symmetrical headpieces and tailpieces in fine line engraving, built from acanthus scrolls, laurel wreaths, masks, pendant drops and a sealed-letter motif, usable as rules, dividers and chapter openers.
