Viaggi d'un artista nell'America Meridionale. I Caduvei, Mbayá o Guaycurú. Con prefazione ed uno studio storico ed etnografico del Dott. G. A. Colini. 112 figure, etc
An Italian artist's account of travels in South America among the Caduveo (Mbayá-Guaycurú) of the Paraguay–Brazil border, drawn by Guido Boggiani and published in 1895 with a historical and ethnographic study by Giuseppe Angelo Colini for scholarly readers. The 112 figures record indigenous body-paint and pottery ornament as flat black-and-white bands: stepped frets, diagonal keys, interlocking scrolls and wave meanders, ready to lift as repeating borders, tile patterns or monochrome motif sets.
