Usi e costumi di Napoli e contorni descritti e dipinti. Opera diretta da F. de Bourcard

BOURCARD, Francesco de. · 1853 · 86 pictures

An Italian survey of the manners, trades and dress of Naples and its surroundings, edited by Francesco de Bourcard and published in Naples in 1853 for local readers and visitors interested in regional folklife. Hand-coloured lithographed plates show sailors, fishermen, street vendors and other figures posed in coastal and town settings, and the text pages carry engraved ornamental initials and centred scrollwork vignettes of fine line curls, flowers and insects that work as standalone type ornaments.
