A single-volume narrative history of Norway written by Hjalmar Hjorth Boyesen and published in London by Sampson Low in 1886 for English-language general readers. The wood-engraved plates show coastal landscapes, fjord cliffs, whirlpools and small stone churches in tonal grey, interspersed with symmetrical printer's ornaments of scrollwork, urns and paired birds usable as headpieces, tailpieces and dividers.
